Who we act for

Foreign companies entering or operating in Qatar
— structure, licensing, local contracts, and a Qatar counterparty who stops paying.

Qatari and GCC companies
— family businesses, SMEs and growing groups that need commercial advice and dispute capability under one roof.

Founders, directors and general managers
— whose signature on a company cheque or contract carries personal consequences under Qatari law.

In-house legal teams and international firms
— that need reliable local counsel in Qatar for a matter, a filing or a hearing.

Practice scope
Request a call
Company formation & market entry
Entity selection, licensing and registration, foreign-ownership structures, shareholder and partner arrangements, and the documentation that decides disputes before they arise.

Contracts & commercial agreements
Drafting, review and negotiation: supply and distribution, agency, services, construction subcontracts, joint ventures, NDAs. Jurisdiction, arbitration, penalty and force majeure clauses drafted to be enforced in Qatar, not just signed.

Corporate governance & shareholder matters
Articles and shareholder agreements, board and management authority, partner exits, deadlock, and disputes between shareholders — resolved by agreement where possible and litigated where necessary.

Employment — for employers
Contracts and policies compliant with Qatar's labour law, terminations handled correctly, settlement calculations, and representation before the Ministry, the Labour Dispute Settlement Committee and the courts.

Regulatory & compliance
Obligations under Qatari law and dealings with ministries and authorities — handled by a team that knows how Qatar's institutions work from the inside.

Disputes, debt recovery & arbitration
Commercial litigation before the Civil and Commercial courts, through Appeal and to Cassation. Debt and cheque recovery through precautionary attachment, prosecution and execution. Representation before QICCA and other arbitral tribunals.

Directors' exposure — what boards should know
Under Qatari law, corporate disputes reach individuals.
- A cheque signed by a manager on behalf of the company is the manager's personal criminal exposure, not only the company's debt.
- A travel ban on a director can follow a commercial case.
- Contract terms accepted without negotiation — jurisdiction, arbitration, penalties, force majeure — decide the outcome before the dispute begins.
- In recovery, the party that files first frames the case and secures assets first.
We advise directors and general managers on these exposures before they sign, and we defend them when they didn't.
How we work
One lawyer, one point of contact.
You know who is handling your matter and how to reach them directly.
Scope and fee in writing, first.
Fixed, hourly or by stage — agreed before work begins. No engagement grows without your written approval.
Advice in writing.
Every opinion in a form you can circulate to your board, your auditors or your head office.
Response within one working hour.
In working hours, every message is acknowledged and a next step given within the hour.
Bilingual by default.
Arabic and English, in documents, negotiations and hearings.
Built for the highest court.
Every contract, notice and filing is prepared to hold before the Court of Cassation. Documents drafted to that standard are rarely tested there.

Why Al Faisal
Cassation-level standard.
The firm represents clients at every level of Qatar's courts, including the Court of Cassation. Advice and drafting are held to that standard from the first document.
Arbitration capability.
The team includes a QICCA-qualified arbitrator. We draft arbitration clauses knowing how tribunals read them and represent clients knowing how tribunals decide.
Institutional knowledge.
The firm's team brings more than two decades inside Qatar's ministries and at INTERPOL. For regulatory matters, investigations, fraud and cross-border recovery, that experience is not theoretical.
Advisory and litigation under one roof.
Because the firm litigates, the documents it drafts anticipate how they will be attacked. Because it advises, it knows which disputes were avoidable.
Bilingual, both ways.
Arabic-law matters explained in English to a foreign head office; English-language contracts made to work in Arabic-speaking courts.

Our standard
Companies come to us at two moments: before they sign, and after something has gone wrong. The second is more expensive. Every contract, resolution and notice we draft is written the way it will look once it is evidence — because that is how we will have to defend it.

The founder
Faysel Al Mohannadi
Cassation lawyerQualified arbitrator, QICCA & Qatar University23 years of public service, Ministry of Interior & INTERPOLCriminal Justice, University of Virginia National AcademyMSc Management, University of Derby
I spent 23 years in law enforcement in Qatar — at the Ministry of Interior, where I rose to Assistant Director and led a department of fifty, and at INTERPOL, in Doha and in Lyon, working with police forces from across the world. In those years I saw the legal system from the inside: how cases move, how decisions are made, and how much depends on having the right person beside you at the right time. I had stood in Qatar's courts as an expert witness long before I stood there as a lawyer.
When I retired, I knew that experience and that knowledge could do more for people than any position could. So in 2024 I founded Al Faisal Law Firm, earned my licence before the Court of Cassation, Qatar's highest court, and qualified as an arbitrator with QICCA and Qatar University.
